Aisha Work

When Aisha stands in front of a blank canvas and begins to paint, she doesn’t have any indication of what the colours of her palette are going to be, what brush strokes she may use, or what textures will appear. She paints from the subconscious. She is a very spontaneous artist who enjoys watching her work develop as she continues to paint from within. As the work evolves, Aisha feels that the painting is now creating a dialogue between it and her. Due to the nature of her source of inspiration, she goes into a state of contemplation as she progresses towards the completion of each piece of work.

Aisha works from her studio in West London, where she creates her works of art / paintings. It is her space where she is totally immersed into what she does, with no interruptions or distractions. It’s where the source of inspiration and ideas, which are constantly on her mind are evolved and become real. This then becomes the context of her practice. The Essence of God is at the focal point of her practice, and the very spiritual nature of this notion is what inspires her to continue with this theme. Aisha works with oil and acrylic paints, and mixed media. She works on various surfaces; canvas board, mdf board, wooden panels, paper and canvas. She works on three or four pieces of work at the same time. It takes her between three to four months to complete a piece of work. Sometimes she leaves a painting for a few months, then goes back and continues to work on it again, until she feels within herself that this is now a finished piece.
