For her forthcoming exhibition, Aisha’s inspiration is derived from her observations of the human race and how their placement on Planet Earth has caused divisions within nature and the environment.

From the beginning of ‘time’ man has created divisions for himself and for the rest of mankind right across the planet. Divisions of boundaries, race, religion, class, and culture are the causes for the unstable environment we live in. As a result, there is no unity in this beautiful world that God has created for us.

Aisha’s thoughts and inspirations for this exhibition were transpired in June 2009 and she began to create a new body of work soon after. It is ironic that almost a year later Prince Charles gave a speech at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies about the current ‘division’ between man and nature.

To try and express this in a form of art is not easy. Aisha’s observation of architectural structures was the source of inspiration to express her thoughts.
Architecture is a form of art and science, creating physical structures and divisions. These architectural forms are very evident in the next series of her work.
